Overview:
The Lejweleputswa District is focused on enhancing municipal services and sustainability through a range of initiatives. Key projects include the development of an Integrated Waste Management Plan and efficient operation of the Odendaalsrus Landfill Site. Significant upgrades to water and sewer infrastructure are underway, with new reticulation networks and meter installations across various localities. The district is also promoting renewable energy through solar panel installations and exploring energy generation from coal gasification and organic materials. Additionally, greening efforts, such as tree planting, and stormwater management projects are being implemented to improve environmental sustainability and public health.
